About the project

Steward House was designed to provide a balanced and practical working environment across multiple floors. The first two levels were developed as private office spaces, while the third floor was conceived as a coworking environment, offering a more open and flexible setting. A consistent design language was carried throughout the building to ensure cohesion, while subtle variations helped each floor retain its own character. Central to the brief was the creation of spaces that felt professional, welcoming, and comfortable for everyday use.

Step by step project

The project began with careful consideration of how each floor would function, particularly in relation to movement, privacy, and shared amenities. Kitchenettes and meeting rooms were integrated into the layouts to support both focused work and collaboration. Finishes were selected for their durability and simplicity, ensuring the interiors would wear well over time without feeling overly corporate. Furniture and materials were chosen to introduce warmth and texture, softening the working environment while maintaining a clean, contemporary feel. The final scheme delivers a workplace that feels considered, practical, and easy to inhabit.

Frequently asked questions

The following guidance offers clarity on my approach to workplace design, planning, and implementation. While these points serve as a helpful overview, each project is ultimately shaped by individual operational needs.

I work with a range of office environments, from private workplaces to shared and coworking spaces. Projects vary in scale, but the focus remains consistent: creating spaces that feel considered, functional, and comfortable to spend time in.

Every workplace begins with understanding how the space is used. Workflow, team structure, privacy, collaboration, and day-to-day practicalities all inform the layout. The aim is to create an environment that supports both productivity and wellbeing.

Yes. Shared work environments require careful planning to balance openness with privacy, as well as durability with comfort. Consideration is given to zoning, acoustics, lighting, and the subtle details that shape how a space feels to work in.

Absolutely. Many projects involve rethinking or improving existing spaces. Where structural constraints exist, the design focuses on making the most effective and balanced use of what is already in place.

A workplace should reflect the character of the business while remaining practical and enduring. Materials, colours, and finishes are selected not only for appearance, but for longevity and suitability in a working environment.

Early involvement is often the most beneficial, particularly when space planning or building works are involved. However, thoughtful improvements can be made at any stage, whether refreshing an existing office or adapting to changing needs.
